Friends of the Indiana Theater Fund

The Indiana Theater at 7th and Ohio in downtown Terre Haute was designed by noted theater architect John Eberson. Construction began in 1921, with the opening in 1922. Designed to be a multi-purpose theater, Vaudeville performances highlighted the initial years of the venue, with such famed performers as Harry Houdini. Then as motion pictures began to grab the interests of the public, the Indiana became the place to go to see the latest from Hollywood.

Our group, The Crosley Radio Players were honored to have put on a recreation of the infamous Mercury Theater On The Air's version of H.G. Wells' "The War of the World" at the Indiana. Now, after decades of use, the Indiana Theater is in dire need of restoration. We hope to be able to again perform at a newly-renovated Indiana Theater.
